Divine Liturgy held at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church. Seven people came for the Divine Liturgy. Three additional people came as the Liturgy concluded. Two additional people came to visit at the lunch.

Third and Sixth Hours were read followed by the Divine Liturgy and Parastos. Four communicants.

· Warmest welcome to Protopresbyter Lt.Col. Adam Yonitch. He and Protonica Robbie were blessed with a new grandchild Zoe this week. New mother Mira attended the healthcare seminar here last month..

· The parostos last Sunday brought members of the Zivkovich Family and the Dimitric Brothers to St. George Church. Forty days for beloved +Pearl and three years for beloved +Nadezda.

· Dr. Anatoli Peredera was in the area and brought daughter Maria. Anatoli always remembers the St. George Church and Holy Trinity Mission in Fairmont.

· Renea Janson is always a welcome and good addition to the St George Choir.

· Congratulations to speech therapist Jennifer Stefanie Kornick, employee of the year at the facility where she works.

· +Crystal Lee Sutton fell asleep in the Lord last week. She was the caring factory worker with whom St. George parishioner and union organizer +Eli Zivkovich was associated and became known as Norma Rae in the award winning movie.

· Remember the sick, the suffering, the imprisoned, those in rehab centers, the homebound, the mentally ill, their caretakers and the institution staffs.

· Remember the men and women serving in the military and their families.

· Remember the workers in mines, law-enforcement, corrections, probation and parole and firefighters, all working in dangerous occupations.

· Sympathy extended to the family of Wayne Kirby. Wayne provides space for the Holy Trinity Mission Church in Fairmont, W.Va. His father departed this life this week.

Byzantium, which in the fourth century became a political and cultural center, likewise became a center for the Church and her progress and development. This liturgical centralization resulted from the exceptional cultural prestige of Constantinople as the capital. The Liturgies of St. Basil the Great and St. John Chrysostom appeared in this region. Later, the entire Slavic world also fell under the domain of the Byzantine liturgy, although it retained its old Slavic linguistic characteristics.
