: · Executive Board President Stan Brozik was recently honored at a large gathering of family and friends for reaching a milestone in his life.
: · Sonia Janson, Melva Hunchuck, Mildred Bezjak, Dianna Brozich and Irene Yancich worked hard this past week baking rolls.
: · Sonia Janson and Sandy Rantovich were among a group from the Uniontown Flower Club recently recognized for planting a tree in memory of firefighters.
: · It was good to have four experienced altar servers last Sunday: Dr. Ivko Dimitric, Aaron Carson, Nathan Klingensmith and John Buffalini.
: · Three people came to Adult Class this past week. No class this week.
: · As St. Nicholas approaches remember the miners who lost their lives on December 6/19 in the Darr Mine (1907) and Dilberg Mine (1984).
: · Remember the sick, the suffering, the imprisoned, those in rehab centers, the homebound, the mentally ill, their caretakers and the institution staffs.
: · Remember the men and women serving in the military and their families.
: · Remember the workers in mines, law-enforcement, corrections, probation and parole and firefighters, all working in dangerous occupations.

A Thought from His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN

Every member of the Church works on the growth of the Body of Christ, and this can be done only if one first builds the Church of God and a place of love for his neighbor in himself. Not only that, one must also work on one's own growth. From the beginning and until the end of his life, man is a collaborator with God. The Divine synergism will not cease even in the next life. An example of such Theandric cooperation is given in the Lord Jesus Christ. Synergism is given in the Church and through the Church.

December 10 - Attended class in Non-Profit Management Continuing Education Certificate Program, Division of Social Work, West Virginia University, held in Charleston, W.Va.
December 11 - Visited family of parishioner.

Twenty-Seventh Sunday after Pentecost

Luke 13:10-17

Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day." The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound-think of it-for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

Healing comes from the Lord Jesus Christ. The healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ is proclaimed throughout the centuries. Not everyone heeds the message. Too many people suffer needlessly as a result.

Too many people ignore the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Too many people engage in frivolous pursuits. Too many people waste much of their lives in activities with little or no lasting benefit to the soul.

The Lord Jesus Christ said: "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Mt. 6:21) Believers do well to measure and assess the use of time each day. Believers do well to consider carefully their use of time.

Life is a precious gift from God. Life is to be invested in the Kingdom of God. Believers are to be good stewards of the time of life. The time of earthly life is limited and has a beginning and ending point.

The way believers use the time of earthly life will influence the Last Judgment that will occur when the Lord Jesus Christ returns. Parents will need to answer regarding the way they let their children spend their time.
