Recent Services

March 25: Ninth Hour was read with reading from The Ladder.
March 26: Midnight Office, First and Third Hours were read.; The Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts was served. Four people came. Two communicants.
March 27: Matins and First Hour were read.; Eight people came for Divine Liturgy with procession. Seven communicants. Kolach and Koljivo were blessed for Slava.; One person came for Ninth Hour and Great Vespers.
March 28: Matins and First Hour were read.; Third and Sixth Hours were read followed by the Divine Liturgy with a procession. Twenty-seven people attended. Nine communicants.
March 29: First, Third, Sixth and Ninth Hours were read including appropriate Kathisma. All of the Gospel of St. Matthew and half of the Gospel of St. Mark were read.
March 30: First, Third, Sixth and Ninth Hours were read including appropriate Kathisma The second half of the Gospel of St. Mark and two thirds of the Gospel of St. Luke were read.; Two people came for the Ninth Hour.
March 31: First, Third, Sixth and Ninth Hours were read including appropriate Kathisma. The final third of the Gospel of St. Luke and almost all of the Gospel of St. John were read.
April 1: Four people came for the Divine Liturgy. One communicant. Seven people came for the Matins of Holy Friday with the Twelve Gospel readings.
April 2: Six people came to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Fairmont, West Virginia for the Royal Hours.

And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed. And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, He is not here; see the place where they laid Him."

The Gospel of St. John 1:1-17

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not the Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of he flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.'" And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

The Feast of Feasts has arrived. Death is trampled down! Christ is Risen! Joy permeates the air. The Empty Tomb sends forth the glorious message that will not be silenced.

Lives change with the celebration of Pascha. Hope ascends. Optimism dominates. Christ's Resurrection exceeds the comprehension of the mind. Christ's Resurrection transforms lives of believers.

Believers are empowered by the Resurrection. Believers are humbled by the Resurrection. The love of Christ is revealed by the Resurrection. The humility of Christ is magnified by the Cross and Resurrection.
