Psalm 104:30
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.

Ten people came on February 1 for the Ninth Hour and Vespers.

The St. Sava Program was held on February 1.

The Lord has been good to Holy Trinity Mission.

Father Stevo Rocknage of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Mckeesport has some icons and books from the parish to give to the Mission.

Continued prayer and faithful attendance are important for the Mission.

Let us pray for the safety of West Virginia men and women serving in the military.

Let us pray fervently for the peace of the whole world.

Let us pray for Orthodoxy to grow in West Virginia.

The Mission website created and maintained by Tom Hunter has attracted messages from distant places. Recently a Serbian man from Canada wrote to offer greetings and inquire about a great-grandfather who came to West Virginia in 1910.

From the Desert Fathers

The same old man said, 'Melchizedek, the image of Christ, blessed Abraham, the father of the Jews; how much more does truth itself, which is the Christ, bless and sanctify all those who believe in it'

On the Meeting of the Lord
Luke 2:22-40

-Let us think about the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord.

-Let us read the words in the Gospel of St. Luke.

-Let us think about the words of St. Simeon.

-Let us consider the reference to the prophetess Anna.

-Let us be mindful the Feast is celebrated until February 22.

-Let us think about the Old Testament readings on the Eve of the Feast.

-Let us be mindful of the importance of young children being taken to Church.

-Let us be mindful of being faithful to the Feasts and Fasts of the Church.

-Let us be attentive to God in our homes, in our community, in our hearts.

-Let us rejoice at the presence of God in our lives.

-Let us continually give thanks to God for the blessings received.

-Let us consider each breath, each movement of the body, each drop of blood, each moment of life comes from God.
