Romans 8:9
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

From the Desert Fathers
The Fathers used to say, "If temptation befall thee in the place thou dost inhabit,
desert not the place in the time of temptation; for if thou dost, wheresoever thou goest,
thou shalt find what thou fliest before thee.
Notes on Divine Liturgy XVIII
His Holiness Patriarch PAVLE.
"On Fasting and Communion."
1997 Serbian Orthodox Clergy Brotherhood of the United States and Canada..
Calendar of the P. 102.
It goes without saying that our faithful should be instructed towards frequent Communion,
but under the condition of constant guard over the purity of soul, keeping spiritual fasts,
guarding the heart, eyes, ears and senses of everything sinful and not only by observing
physical fasts...
Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Eastern America Dr. MITROPHAN.
The Teaching of Saint Apostle Paul on the Church.
Translated by Protopresbyter Stephen Zaremba, 2001, p. 64
All of the Holy Mysteries, and especially the Holy Mystery of the Eucharist, unite all of
us in the Church of Christ. We become communicants, of His Body and Blood, true and authentic.
Through this Holy Mystery we become Christ's kin.
Protopresbyter Stavrofor Dr. Nedeljko Grgurevich.
The Eucharist as Sacrifice.
Johnstown, Pennsylvania, 1993, p. 93.
The true teaching of the Eucharist, which our Lord Jesus Himself left, and on which the
Apostle Paul gave a commentary, has not changed nor has it caused confusion among the great
minds of the Church. Since there existed the clear and unambiguous words of the Savior on the
Eucharist, there are, therefore, not many patristic commentaries on the subject, neither were
there any serious reasons for questions revolving around it.
Very Reverend Protos Stavrophor Vojislav Dosenovich.
On the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrystostom.
Omaha, Nebraska, pp. 46-46.
We are known to God, and the other people through our name received and registered at
the moment of our baptism. The mentioning of the personal name at the time of receiving
the Holy Communion and confession is of great importance. Mentioning the personal name
indicates that person's extra-ordinary importance and irreplaceable existence, character
and personality. The mentioned person is glad and happy for the attention before God and
other people. The forgiveness of sins is a must to opening the door of eternal life.
Very Reverend Protos Stavrophor Vojislav Dosenovich.
Spiritual Reminder.
p. 186.
God is holy and His body and blood are holy, and we are reminded to partake of this
holiness. St. Paul does not hesitate together with the Church to warn us to be careful
not to receive this mystery in a diminished way, but to partake of it as a supreme
sacrifice of Christ ."Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord
unworthy, will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord."
