A Reflection

Acts 4:32 - Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

The Church provides the opportunity for unity in faith. The Church provides the opportunity for unity of heart, mind and soul. The Church provides for the sharing of common goods.

The Church brings individuals together to experience the life in Christ. The Church manifests the glory of God in the lives of the believers. The Church lifts the hearts and minds of believers from the depths of sin to the heights of the Kingdom.

The Lord lifts broken lives from the depths of despair to the peaks of hope. The Lord heals broken hearts and demon possessed minds. The Lord heals damaged relationships

Believers have the opportunity to go from glory to glory as set forth by the Holy Apostle Paul. St. Paul said: "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Cor.3:18)

How individuals share material goods with others affects the soul. How individuals treat others affects the soul. The way individuals view the self and others affects the soul.

Individuals live in community with others. Individuals are stewards of the earth and the resources of the earth. The Church provides the structure for life on earth. The Church provides the vision for life on earth and prepares individuals for departure from this life.

Finality is found in the glorious Second Coming and in the Final Judgment. Everyday is a preparation for the Second Coming. Some prepare. Some do not. Everyday is a movement of time toward the Second Coming.

The Lord's Prayer is a plea for "Thy Kingdom come." The words of the Lord's Prayer are powerful. The prayer is filled with meaning. The frequency with which the Lords' Prayer is recited underscores the prayer's value.

When the choice is made to live fully in the Church, value in the Church's structure is realized. The Holy Mysteries give the believer the path to follow throughout life from Holy Baptism to Holy Unction. Holy Confession and Holy Communion keep the believer united with Christ throughout life.

Holy Matrimony and Holy Orders exist for those saying "yes" to life in the Church in these Christian ways of life. The path from the baptismal fount to the Kingdom has travelers sharing the common unity of life in the Church.
